As American astronauts conducted learner-designed experiments on the ISS, our Launch Team members waited patiently for their return. Conducted on September 27, 2022, the experiments remained on station until safely splashing down off the coast of Florida on January 11, 2023. Once the experiments returned to California, it was time to analyze the samples and learn what had happened when the experiments had been in space. Learners from Team Yucca and Team Seagrass, comprised of learners from iLEAD Exploration, iLEAD Agua Dulce, and SCVi Charter, were welcomed to Elkhorn Slough Reserve to unpack and analyze their samples and to experience something few have: the chance to hold something that had been in space.

Thank you, DreamUp, for partnering with us to support learners with this rigorous, real-world aerospace opportunity!
