Meet the Team
Like most sixth graders I enjoy video games, YouTube and Star Wars. I am an avid Lego collector and enjoy making stop motion videos with my Lego sets. I have danced competitively since I was four years old, winning numerous awards in Polynesian dance, hip hop and jazz. I enjoy horseback riding, gymnastics, golf and tennis.
I am also a writer for SCVi Leaders school newspaper. My most recent article entitled, “iLEAD Students Participate in Q&A with NASA Chief Scientist”, focused on our team’s unique opportunity to discuss our projects with Dr. Jacob Cohen. It was featured in Issue 3: Fall 2020 and can be found here: https://ileadsantaclarita.org/programs/scvi-leader/
The DreamUp to Space Virtual Mission continues to be an awesome experience. During our proposal period, it challenged me to dig deep into researching our idea and allowed me to build upon the concepts we learned in science class. Writing and presenting our experiment was so much more detailed than anything I had ever done. This journey has been amazing.
I am continuing to learn so many new things through this process and am very thankful for our “mission control” facilitators, Ms. Brown, Ms. Fredette and Ms. Soto.
I am a competitive dancer and have been since I was five years old. Just like my brother, Hutch, I have won numerous awards in Polynesian dance, hip hop and jazz. I love gymnastics, horseback riding, tennis and golf. I really like playing video games with my friends and watching and trying out Five Minute Crafts from YouTube. I also started a business over the summer called, “FooFoo’s Festive Pom-Poms” where I hand make yarn pom-poms for all occasions.
I am really enjoying the opportunities and challenges that the DreamUp to Space program offers. This program has been so much different than any project I have ever done. Researching farming and space exploration continue to be an amazing journey. My dream is to continue to explore space and one day be the first Latina/Armenian-American woman in space!
I am always curious and looking to learn new things. I also love fast roller coasters, sushi, and playing basketball.
Dream Up has inspired me to love learning about space. I have been challenged to think about things that we can do now to help space exploration in the future. I want to become an astronaut one day because of this program and the things that I have learned. I think space is so cool. I plan to be on the ISS one day! If I have enough time I’d love to go to the moon as well.
