Meet the Team
I like gaming and reading. I am passionate about art (jewelry-making, painting) and science because art is beautiful and science interests me.
I have been at SCVi for six years and I have always been interested in science. I first got interested in science when I started watching the science channel on tv and seeing the experiments that scientists do.
I want to be part of this project because I want to learn about what happens to sea lettuce in space and I want to experience the opportunity of seeing the launch.
I want to know what happens to Pyropia in space and and how to be proactive.
I was born in Burbank and moved down to Santa Clarita in 2010, to Atlanta in 2011 and back to California in 2018.
I go to SCVi and ever since I first visited, I’ve been loving it. I’ve been at the school since January 8th, 2019 and in 5th grade, after I transferred from James Foster elementary (Learning is so different at SCVi and I’ve been really happy there)
I enjoy history, math, science, ELA and talking to my friends at school and being with my family and friends, riding my bike, doing gymnastics and swimming when not at school.
I really want to be on the team is because it is amazing and the opportunity to do this outside of NASA is very rare.
I’ve always liked science because me and my dad are geeks and we always go to the science museum and really like NASA, we often watch documentaries and I like books about science.
The experiment we are doing and sending up to the ISS is Pyropia. What I have learned about it is that it a type of sea lettuce that you can eat. Another fact I have learned about is how a MixStix will put our projects up in space.
My experiment that is going to space is Pyropia (a type of kelp).
I wanted to join Dream Up because I’ve always loved space and its secrets. I also loved science and discovery and I thought Dream Up would help me learn more.
I have liked science but I was really into space and different planets and their powers.
When I was 5, I was really into dinosaurs and said I wanted to be a paleontologist when I grew up. Then I added rocks and crystals into my interests. I just love how there’s so many different types of science like electricity, or learning about dinosaurs, or learning about the solar system .
I also love to play sports such as soccer and basketball. In my spare time I like to swim and play with wrestler toys.
My family is really important to me.
I love to play with dogs and climb high things. I also like to scooter around my neighborhood.
I think Dream Up will help me learn how to stay focused and stay present and learn more about space.
I have been attending an ILEAD school for 3 years. I joined the Dream Up project because space and adaptation have been a fascination for me for a while and I saw this as an amazing opportunity to get questions answered. To be honest I haven’t been that interested in science, so this is my first real experiment.
Outside of school I am a competitive dancer that dances at least 15 to 20 hours a week. Some of the styles I do are ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, pointe, musical theater, hip hop, lyrical and as a bonus acro, strength and conditioning and technique. In my free time I like to read, write, arts and crafts, do some photography and make short home movies.
I think something I will learn during this project is teamwork and commitment.
I am passionate about dance (obviously) my family and friends and animals.
In fact, my family has 27 animals (and no, most of them are not fish!)
I am super excited to be a part of the Dream Up project and can’t wait to see what happens next.
