Capriana (Capri) Y
iLEAD Exploration
8th Grade
Principal Investigator
About Capriana
Capri is in 8th grade and has been attending iLEAD Exploration for six years. She is part of Team Pill Bugs. In their experiment, they are investigating whether pill bugs can change the pH level in soil in space as they do on Earth. Capri sent a proposal to DreamUp to Space because it looked like a great opportunity. She enjoys working with her team on activities such as logo design, experiment optimization, and learning about pill bugs. Her interests and hobbies include basketball, running, math, cooking, and entomology. She loves picking up bugs. She also enjoys face painting, art, and learning about the brain.

About Grayson
Grayson M Yagiela is an 8th grader at iLEAD Exploration. He is part of Team Pill Bugs. The purpose of Team Pill Bugs is to see if pill bugs can increase the pH (potential of hydrogen) of the soil in space. He appreciates the opportunity to make a small difference in the future of space colonization. Some of his interests are geography, mapping, and Minecraft.

About Ryder
Ryder Yagiela is an 8th grader at iLEAD Exploration. He is part of Team Pill Bugs and is working to see if the pill bugs can raise the pH (potential of hydrogen) of soil in microgravity. He decided to write a proposal because space always fascinated him. He loves space and the International Space Station. Outside of space, he enjoys basketball, reading, and learning new things.
Evelyn is a freshman at iLEAD Exploration and a member of Team Pill Bugs. The team’s experiment goal is to see the change, if any, in the pH of soil from pill bugs in space.
She decided to join DreamUp to pursue her passion for space. She is a communications officer for an astronomy club, and in her free time, she also enjoys jiu jitsu.
Teagan Kellogg is 14 years old, and this is her second year at iLEAD Exploration. She is in 8th grade. Astronomy and oceanography piqued her interest, which prompted her to apply to Team Pill Bugs. Having a love for science, she immediately knew that DreamUp to Space would be a great experience, which she could learn a lot from. Team Pill Bugs’ experiment goal is to send pill bugs into space and find out if they increase the pH of the soil in microgravity. In addition to this project, she dances flamenco, plays lacrosse, is a Girl Scout Cadette, and enjoys reading, baking, and traveling. Teagan lives in Southern California with her twin brother, parents, and Great Dane/Dalmation dog, Major.
William Triest is a freshman at iLEAD Exploration. He entered DreamUp to Space thanks to his strong interests in experimentation and space, earning a place in the top five proposals. On Team Pill Bugs, he desires to contribute to the scientific community by helping fulfill the team’s goal of determining if microgravity affects pill bugs’ ability to change the pH of ground soil. William is on a sports team in tae kwon do and is working toward his black belt. As a diligent student, he loves to learn about biology, astronomy, and engineering and enjoys helping others.
