SCVi DreamUp Launch Team Phyllostachys edulis (Bamboo Shoots) Optimizes Experiment for Space

On Tuesday, December 2, SCVi’s DreamUp Launch Team Phyllostachys edulis (Bamboo Shoots) got to work on optimizing their experiment for a journey to the International Space Station National Laboratory!

SCVi learners Quinn R., Sergio V. R., Jonah O., Madi F., Wyatt N., Kara C., and Arielle M. designed an experiment that will soon be launched into space! Their team is tackling a challenge with huge implications for space exploration: Can bamboo be used to build sustainable habitats on Mars?

They’re investigating how this amazing plant, known for its strength, rapid growth, and eco-friendliness, stands up to the challenges of space travel and habitats on Mars. This research could revolutionize how we approach building in space!

We’re proud of their hard work and dedication! Stay tuned for updates on their experiment’s journey to the ISS!
